BART extends Yellow Line track maintenance through December 21 | The Locally Times

Rail destressing work will force single-track operations and 20-25 minute delays on 30 nights through the end of 2026.

BART will continue rail destressing maintenance on the Yellow Line in Contra Costa County through December 21, 2026, resulting in recurring service delays. As The Locally Times reported previously, the project requires single-track operations between the North Concord and Pittsburg/Bay Point stations, forcing riders to anticipate 20-25 minute delays on scheduled work nights. ## Service Impact Work is scheduled to occur from midnight until the start of service the following morning. During these windows, BART will reduce service from two tracks to one to establish a safe work zone for maintenance crews. The agency notes that this schedule is subject to updates throughout the duration of the project. ## Maintenance Schedule The maintenance is set for 30 specific nights through the end of the year. Upcoming work dates include July 8-10, July 13, July 23-25, and July 27. August maintenance is planned for August 4-6, August 10, August 20-22, and August 24. September dates include September 3-5, September 7, September 15, September 21-22, and September 28-30. ## Remaining 2026 Dates Additional work is scheduled for October 1, October 15-17, October 19, and October 22-24, and October 26. November maintenance will occur November 12-14, November 16, November 19-20, and November 23. The final series of work nights is set for December 3-5, December 7, December 17-19, and December 21.
