LYNX Slashes Universe Service, Reroutes Near Stadium | The Locally Times
LYNX slashes Universe service, reroutes stadium buses, and revamps NeighborLink starting April 26.
Commuters and tourists across Orange and Osceola counties face significant disruptions as LYNX prepares to implement sweeping route and schedule changes on April 26, 2026. The overhaul will drastically reduce access to Universal Universe, reroute buses around Camping World Stadium due to construction, and completely revamp the NeighborLink on-demand service. ## Sweeping LYNX Overhaul Impacts Dozens of Routes On April 26, 2026, LYNX will roll out extensive service changes impacting dozens of bus routes across Orange and Osceola counties. Key routes facing significant modifications include Links 20, 36, 311, 407, and 418, LYNX Central Florida Transit announced. Minor schedule adjustments are also slated for Links 3, 24, 43, 48, 49, and 125, alongside timepoint changes for Links 10, 19, 40, 105, and 302. Travelers should also prepare for bay changes at the Disney Springs Transfer Center. These widespread updates are set to dramatically alter daily commutes and tourist access to major destinations. ## Universe Access Slashed, Stadium Routes Rerouted Access to Orlando's most anticipated new attraction, Universal Universe, will be severely curtailed. Link 311, a key connection between Disney, Orlando International Airport, and Universe, will cease service to the Helios Grand Hotel and significantly reduce trips to the Universe bus loop. Meanwhile, ongoing construction at Camping World Stadium forces major reroutes for two critical lines. Link 20, serving Malibu Street, Pine Hills, and Washington Shores, will now navigate via Church Street, Orange Blossom Trail, Central Boulevard, and Dollins Avenue. Similarly, Link 36, which covers Lake Richmond, will modify its outbound path through South Street, Orange Blossom Trail, Long Street, and Rio Grande Avenue. Both Links 20 and 36 will also see minor daily or weekday schedule adjustments. In Lake Nona, Links 407 and 418 are also undergoing significant routing changes. Link 407 will now operate bi-directionally along Boggy Creek Road, Lake Nona Boulevard, Medical City Drive, Laureate Boulevard, Veterans Way, Lake Nona Boulevard, and Nemours Parkway. Its layover will shift to the Nemours Children's Hospital bus stop, and critically, service to the USTA facility will be eliminated entirely. Link 418 will adopt a new route via Lake Nona Boulevard, Medical City Drive, Laureate Boulevard, Veterans Way, Lake Nona Boulevard, and Nemours Parkway, with its final stop relocating to Nemours Children’s Hospital. Link 418 will also experience minor daily schedule adjustments. ## NeighborLink Overhauled: No More Walk-Ons LYNX's NeighborLink on-demand service is set for a complete overhaul, transitioning to a new provider and smaller vehicles, with changes effective either May 11 or May 26. The good news for riders is the elimination of the previous two-hour advance booking requirement, allowing for more flexible, same-day trip scheduling. However, a major shift means all trips must now be booked exclusively through the Ride Freebee mobile app or by calling 407-244-0808. Crucially, walk-on requests will be entirely eliminated. LYNX officials confirm that detailed maps and schedules for all April service changes are currently being finalized and will be published on their website once complete. ## What You Need To Know: Key Changes At A Glance **When do the LYNX changes take effect?** The LYNX service changes are scheduled to begin on April 26, 2026, with NeighborLink changes taking effect on either May 11 or May 26. **How will the changes affect travel to Universe?** Link 311 will reduce service to the Universe bus loop and discontinue service to the Helios Grand Hotel. **What are the new rules for NeighborLink?** NeighborLink will no longer require two-hour advance booking, but all trips must be scheduled via the Ride Freebee app or phone, with walk-on requests eliminated.
