UW–Madison opens Irving & Dorothy Levy Hall after $20 million gift | The Locally Times

The new humanities and social sciences building opened to students and faculty on the first day of the fall semester.

Irving & Dorothy Levy Hall, located at the corner of North Park and West Johnson streets, opened to students and faculty on the first day of the fall semester. The building houses eight academic departments and includes lecture halls, study pods, a café, and the Baumann Family SuccessWorks Gateway. Construction was made possible by a $20 million gift from brothers Marv and Jeff Levy, who donated in honor of their late parents, Irving and Dorothy Levy. Marv, Jeff, and their late brother Phillip Levy all graduated from the College of Letters & Science. An open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony were held Thursday, with Marv Levy and Jeff Levy cutting the ceremonial ribbon. Attendees included alumni, faculty, staff, donors, supporters from the state government, and campus community members. The festivities included passports for guests to visit all eight academic departments and a new Babcock ice cream flavor, Levylicious, on the third floor.
