The Prince William Board of County Supervisors approved a $1.6 million Economic Development Opportunity Fund grant to support the construction of a new U.S. headquarters for Sandberg Development Inc. The board also authorized the sale of 11.06 acres of county-owned land located between Hornbaker Road and Prince William County Parkway to the firm. ## Project Scope and Investment Sandberg Development plans to build an 87,565-square-foot office and manufacturing facility at 9349 Hornbaker Road in Park. The project includes a future expansion phase of 48,330 square feet. The company committed to a $43 million capital investment over the next four years. The facility will house advanced manufacturing, robotics, and office space. The project is expected to create 32 new jobs with an average annual salary of $118,000. Sandberg Development currently operates four U.S.-based companies in Prince William County, which generate $100 million in annual sales. ## Strategic Location The new headquarters will sit across from the FBI’s Northern Virginia Resident Agency. The site is part of the Nexus234 District, a designated area for business development. One of the companies consolidating into the new space is Aimpoint, a manufacturer of optics and sighting systems that has maintained a U.S. headquarters in the county since 2016. ## What to Watch The project is scheduled for completion over two phases during the next four years. Future updates regarding construction milestones or site development will be managed through the Prince William County Department of Economic Development.
