Howard County announced a bridge repair project on Merryman Street in Ellicott City that was scheduled to begin on or about Monday, October 5, with a corresponding bridge closure planned for the duration of the work. ## Details The project, Capital Project B-3853, covers the span between 8392 and 8407 Merryman Street over Cat Rock Run and includes installing a new bridge deck and repairing the stone support walls. Construction was expected to take place Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with signs posted to alert residents of the work and closure. The county reminded drivers to stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers in the work zone. ## Timeline Weather permitting, the county expected the project to be completed by mid-November 2026.
