## Fire Skills for Young Residents The City of Strongsville will host its annual Fire Academy for Kids program in June, offering a free, hands-on experience for children aged 10 and 11. The academy aims to introduce participants to the fundamentals of fire and emergency medical services through practical skills like CPR and fire extinguisher use. A free lunch will be provided to all attendees. ## Program Details and Registration The six-hour program is scheduled for June 8 and 10 at Strongsville Fire Station 4, located at 17000 Prospect Road. Sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. The academy can accommodate 21 children per day, for a total of 42 participants. If interest is high, additional dates on June 11 and potentially June 12 may be added. Registration begins April 1, 2025, and is strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. Requests for specific dates will be considered but cannot be guaranteed. To register, residents should email kids.academy@strongsville.org with the parent/guardian name, child’s name, child’s age, and a working phone number. Registrations received before April 1 will not be considered. Notification of acceptance is expected within one week, and applicants are advised to check junk and spam folders for responses. ## What to Watch With registration opening April 1, 2025, and limited spots available, Strongsville residents interested in the Fire Academy for Kids should prepare their registration requests in advance. The program is open to new recruits only.
