## New Fee for Crash Reports The Maryland Department of State Police Central Records Division has implemented a $4 fee for copies of motor vehicle crash reports. This non-refundable document search fee is payable by check or money order and is made out to the Maryland State Police. ## Obtaining a Report Individuals seeking an official copy of a crash report must wait at least ten days after the incident date for the report to be processed and available. Reports can be obtained in person at the Maryland State Police Barrack that completed the report, by mail after downloading and completing a Request for Motor Vehicle Crash Report form, or in person at the Central Records Division during business hours. An online form is also available to expedite requests, though the $4 fee remains required. ## What to Watch Requests for crash reports occurring in the City of Baltimore should be directed to the Baltimore Police Department's Central Records Division. The Maryland State Police Central Records Division also handles requests for MSP investigative reports and other related documents in accordance with department policy and the Public Information Act.
