The Town of Bel Air is offering Level 2 dance lessons in West Coast Swing, Salsa, and Bachata, with registration and payment managed through Eventbrite. The classes are scheduled to run on Mondays from April 13 to May 18, 2026. These lessons are intended for individuals with some prior experience or knowledge of the dance styles. The West Coast Swing class, held from 6-7 p.m., will focus on starter step variations, whips, and styling. The Latin Salsa/Bachata class, from 7-8 p.m., will concentrate on turns, hand changes, and crossbody leads. Partners are not required for any of the classes, though dancers should have a foundational understanding of the respective styles. Instruction will be provided by Kristen Renshaw, who has been involved in ballroom dancing since 2005. Renshaw has experience choreographing for wedding couples, coaching for Dancesport competitions, and developing youth ballroom programs. All event updates and communications will be sent via email to the address provided during registration. Refunds will not be issued for missed sessions, and a prorated option is not available. The classes are partially sponsored by the Bel Air Arts and Entertainment District through a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council. What to watch: Residents interested in participating must register and pay through Eventbrite, as at-the-door sales and drop-ins are not permitted.
