## Records Slated for Destruction Wimberley ISD's Special Services department will destroy inactive special education and Section 504 records dating from August 2017 to May 2018. The destruction is scheduled for May 30, 2025, according to a public notice posted on the district's website. These records are no longer needed for educational services but may be required for social security benefits or other purposes. ## Access and Notification Parents or eligible students aged 18 or older have the right to inspect and review these records. Those wishing to obtain a copy of their records must notify the special education department on or before May 15, 2025. The district states this action complies with federal regulations 34 CFR 300.573. ## What to Watch Parents and former students who received special education or 504 services between August 2017 and May 2018 should review their records and contact the district by May 15, 2025, if they wish to retain copies.
