Williamson County Offers Household Hazardous Waste Cleanup | The Locally Times

Residents can safely dispose of hazardous materials at an upcoming event hosted by Williamson County and Waste Management.

## Household Hazardous Waste Event Scheduled Williamson County, in partnership with Waste Management, will host a Household Hazardous Waste Cleanup Event on Saturday, April 4. The event aims to provide residents with a safe and convenient method for disposing of hazardous materials. The cleanup will take place at the Williamson County Expo Center, located at 5330 Bill Pickett Trail in Taylor. The event is scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Residents are encouraged to bring items such as antifreeze, batteries, brake fluid, cleaning products, pesticides, herbicides, and paints for disposal. A detailed list of accepted items is available through Williamson County Parks' news flash notifications. ## Disposal Guidelines and Exclusions Volunteers will be on hand to unload vehicles, and attendees are asked to remain inside their cars during the process. Each vehicle is permitted to go through the disposal line only once. The event will not accept hazardous and industrial waste, explosives, weapons, electronics, large items like tires, or medical and commercial waste. Specific exclusions include agricultural chemicals, asbestos, ammunition, fireworks, pharmaceuticals, and propane cylinders. ## Upcoming Community Events This hazardous waste cleanup is one of several community events scheduled in Williamson County. Additionally, the Williamson County Commissioners Court approved the adoption of the Atlas 14 Floodplain Mapping Study during their March 24 meeting.
