## Public Comment Period Nears End The public comment period for the Draft Local Solid Waste Management Plan (LSWMP) for the Capital Region is set to close on Friday, April 3, 2026. The City of Albany, acting on behalf of the CRSWMP Planning Unit, prepared the draft plan to update the previous version approved by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) in 2014. The updated plan details the key components of the region's solid waste management program through the year 2035. ## How to Submit Feedback Individuals interested in providing input on the Draft LSWMP can submit written comments until the April 3 deadline. Comments can be sent via email to Sandy Warner at SWarner@chasolutions.com. The Draft LSWMP is available for review on the Village of Voorheesville's website, as well as at capitalregionallandfill.com. The plan was posted on March 24, 2026, and the comment period began on February 17, 2026. ## What to Watch Residents should note the upcoming deadline for submitting comments. The plan aims to define future solid waste management strategies for the region, and public input is a key part of this process. Further updates on the plan's adoption and implementation are expected following the close of the comment period.
